Donate iPods and MP3 Players to The Enclave
Do you have an iPod or MP3 player sitting in a drawer not being used? Donate it to The Enclave at Port Chester for their Music and Memories program. Music has a strong emotional component. Listening to music has been shown to be able to help with bringing back memories associated with hearing that music, and therefore of processing information. The iPods and MP3 players are used for a form of musical therapy designed to help calm patients and make them happier and more sociable by playing music from their younger years. Each resident will receive a personalized playlist which has special meaning to them. Visit www.musicandmemory.com to see first-hand how this has helped Alzheimer patients
