2018 Social Media, Marketing and Communication Volunteers

Cancer Support Team, a licensed home care program serving southern Westchester cancer patients and their families, is seeking volunteers to help with its social media, marketing, and communication efforts. These volunteers are responsible for supporting and helping to implement a social media and public relations strategy for Cancer Support Team. Schedule is flexible!

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a content calendar to ensure social media content supports planned campaigns and programs
  • Researching and identifying relevant stories to share with constituents (patients, donors and community agencies) across various social media platforms
  • Monitoring breaking news and current events to create compelling content
  • Assisting in planning, writing, and managing content for monthly (at a minimum) eblasts
  • Assisting in planning, writing, and managing content for weekly (at a minimum) Facebook posts
  • Assisting in planning and producing video content/interviews for eblasts and Facebook posts
  • Updating web site
  • Actively investigating ways to improve engagement on all social media platforms
  • Maintaining and updating list of press contacts for public relations efforts
  • Drafting, distributing, and pitching news releases and media alerts

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in social media, research, writing, and/or non-profit work
  • Comfortable working with all social media platforms
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Independent worker
  • Good organizational and time management skills
