Program Presenter
Purpose of position: Volunteer in-person at different sites in the community, including health fairs, senior centers, civic organizations, schools, libraries, etc. to raise awareness and give guidance about issues surrounding being prepared for and living with serious illness and the end of life. Qualifications needed for position (variety of skills needed for different public events): Comfortable connecting with individuals and speaking in public; good oral communication skills; skilled at connecting with an audience. Willingness to be trained as a speaker by WELC; willingness to learn about NYS healthcare laws, and other speaker topics. Job responsibilities: Distribute NY State Health Care Proxy forms and posters about events to Westchester Libraries Speak and present in public about issues related to helping community members with information about preparing for and living with serious illness and at the end of life. Topics may include: information about completing a health care proxy, educating about hospice and palliative care. All levels of experience and interest are encouraged to apply. Location: Variety of locations for trainings and presentations. Time commitment required: Flexible, occasional 2-4 hour segments
