Furniture SWAT Team

Furniture Sharehouse is creating a network of special volunteers willing to do "last minute" furniture pick-ups in their community -- kind of a "Furniture SWAT Team". People often call to donate furniture but either don't meet minimum pick-up requirements or cannot wait until the next available pick-up date, so that much-needed furniture gets discarded. Volunteers are needed who have access to a pick-up truck, large van or other hauling vehicle who would be willing to take 1-2 calls per month to go to a donor's home and pick up a couple of pieces of furniture and take them to the warehouse at the Westchester County Airport.
