2017 Mayor’s Day of Recognition for National Service

 

Volunteer New York!'s RSVP of Westchester Senior Corps members were highlighted and celebrated on the 2017 Mayor's Day of Recognition for National Service in the city of New Rochelle with Mayor Noam Bramson, in the city of Yonkers with Mayor Mike Spano, and in Mount Vernon with Mayor Richard Thomas.
 
In New Rochelle Mayor Bramson spent time with Senior Corps volunteers at the The Hugh A Doyle Center and awarded them certificates of recognition for being part of RSVP of Westchester or the Foster Grandparents program, which is another initiative under the Corporation For National And Community Service.
 
 
In the City of Yonkers, Mayor Mike Spano also recognized the volunteer efforts of six outstanding Senior Corps volunteers who serve local nonprofits as members of Volunteer New York!'s RSVP of Westchester and WestCOP's Foster Grandparents Program.
 
National Service is more important now than ever before with over 194 million citizens who serve across America every year through the Corporation for National and Community Service.
