This project is part of the 2016 9/11: Serve + Remember National Day of Service that is being supported locally by Volunteer New York! and Westchester County Government. This empathy building project will help disperse empathy training tools and to engage volunteers on how to be better empathy ambassadors in their community, reflecting on the unity that emerged after the tragic attacks on September 11, 2001, and the service, empathy and compassion that carries us forwards 15 years later. Volunteers are invited to stay to attend Westchester County’s formal 9/11 memorial ceremony at “The Rising Memorial,” which will begin at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2016.
