Development Intern

The Katonah Museum of Art, located in Katonah, NY, seeks an unpaid intern per semester to work in its Development Department during the fall and spring terms of 2017-2018. Interns will work approximately 3 days per week for 4 months beginning in September 2017 and 4 months beginning in January of 2018.

These unique positions offer participants “hands-on” training in a fast-paced, team-oriented museum environment and a comprehensive overview of museum operations. The ideal candidates will also gain valuable insight into the art world and working in a Development Department.

The Development Department is responsible for raising funds to support all exhibitions and programming at the Katonah Museum of Art. The Development Department also handles the museum’s membership program. Development is a central department to the Museum and works closely with the Executive Director’s Office and Educational and Curatorial Departments.

Job Description: (In this role, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following.)
•	Updating and maintaining the Museum’s membership database using Blackbauds Raiser’s Edge.
•	Assisting with membership fulfillment.
•	Executing in-house mailings such as membership solicitations and renewals, annual fund letters, acknowledgement letters and special events correspondence.
•	Providing general support to the Development Department as needed.
The ideal candidate must have:
•	Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•	A professional demeanor.
•	Strong attention to detail.
•	Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
•	Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office is mandatory.
•	Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is preferred, but not required.
•	Knowledge of Photoshop and Constant Contact is a plus.

Internship credits can be coordinated through your college or university.
