Be a SCORE Mentor

SCORE is a nonprofit resource partner with over 300 offices across the country. As part of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), it assists both small business owners and those wishing to start a business by providing confidential business counseling for free as well as business workshops. SCORE/Westchester has nearly 40 volunteer members.

• Demonstrated successful business experience. Many volunteers are working or retired business owners, executives and managers, who have been through the same challenges and decisions that many entrepreneurs face today
• 10+ years experience in a specific business area (law, accounting, marketing, social media and digital, insurance, restaurants, and more).
• Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and contribute to Chapter growth. In addition to mentoring, SCORE/Westchester needs volunteers to assist with running/hosting workshops, chapter marketing activities, administrative and operations support, fundraising, and business writing.
• Ability to commit to volunteering at least six hours per week.
